As the city in the U.S. with the highest concentration of women-run start-ups, Chicago is blazing trails in the business community. In this episode, we sit down with Abigail Ingram, Executive Director of DePaul University’s Women in Entrepreneurship Institute, which works to support women entrepreneurs with vital guidance and resources, and Ashley Rockwood, a entrepreneur in her own right who recently founded the Free Mvmt Shop. In a dynamic conversation, we parse out the hurdles women face in starting businesses, the changing gender parity in Chicago’s business community, and how women in Chicago are building the infrastructure for a more equitable future around the country.
