1. Clown around at the Midnight Circus in the Parks.
Be dazzled by this circus with a cause and watch high-flying acrobats, uncanny contortionists and talented tightrope walkers work their magic in Garfield Park. For just $5! Donations go toward revitalizing the park – and who wouldn’t want to watch some of the city’s best acts? Plus, there’s a good chance you’ll see the circus’ founder and CIW C-op member Jeff Jenkins

Catch comedic greats like Dave Chappelle, Flight of the Conchords, Demetri Martin and the rest of this one-of-a-kind lineup as it makes its stop in Chicago at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre. The largest comedy festival promises to “destroy your funny bone” and make your stomach hurt with laughter from the dozens of original comedic songs.

3. Buy recycled art at Remix Chicago.
Celebrate repurposed arts and crafts, engage in eco-friendly workshops, snack on unique foods and enjoy live music from indie bands at Remix Chicago. What was formerly known as Ravenswood Remix will be spreading its wings to Logan Square, where proceeds will benefit the Friends of Goethe School, a nonprofit that will be undertaking the transformation of the Goethe schoolyard.

The Taste of Polonia immerses you in Polish culture with authentic food (such as pierogis and potato pancakes), five stages of live music (ranging from traditional Polka to rock ‘n’ roll) and a marketplace where you can shop for both old and new world treasures.

5. Shop ’til you drop at The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival.
The nation’s first shopping festival enters its third year with fashion shows, stylish events and culinary demonstrations. The event features top celebrity chefs, local designers, special deals and exclusive first-looks at some of falls hottest trends. If you ever needed an excuse to shop, this is it!
