This week’s Video of the Week: Jason Fried’s “World of Work”

Inspired to act? Here are 5 ways to inspire in the workplace:
  1. Donate to The Cara Program, a Chicago organization that offers best-in-class job training and placement provider for individuals affected by homelessness and poverty. The Cara Program has evolved as not only a best-in-class job training and placement provider for individuals affected by homelessness and poverty, but also a vehicle for true life transformation.
  2. Become a Job Partner for The Urban Alliance, an organization who empowers under-resourced youth to aspire, work, and succeed through paid internships, formal training, and mentoring
  3. Too busy at work to assemble that tricky Ikea coffee table you’ve been meaning to get to? Check out Task Rabbit, an organization that dedicates time and talent to getting your To-Do list done!
  4. Read “Power of Less”, a which demonstrates how to streamline your life by identifying the essential and eliminating the unnecessary — freeing you from everyday clutter and allowing you to focus on accomplishing the goals that can change your life for the better.
  5. Volunteer from your workplace! Spark is the only youth apprenticeship program that matches 7th and 8th grade students with mentors in professional workplaces. As students connect their schoolwork to tangible career opportunities, they exhibit increased motivation and performance in school.
